Biography
Since 1988 Dr. Kuppen is connected with Leiden University Medical Centre. As researcher at the Department of Pathology in 1993 he defended his thesis \\\"Studies on interleukin-2-activated rat natural killer cells. Establishment of a syngeneic model for adoptive immunotherapy of cancer\\\'\\\'. He became researcher and Head of the research group \\\'Immunotherapy of cancer\\\' at the Department of Surgery. In 2001 Dr. Kuppen became head of the Laboratory for Surgical Oncology and in 2009 Head of the Research Laboratory for Surgery. Besides a researcher Dr. Kuppen is coordinator of the program for academic training of the study Biomedical Sciences.
Research Interest
His Research interests as a project leader in research surgical oncology are Immunotherapy colorectal cancer and Diagnostic and prognostic factors for colon and breast cancers. He is an expert on cancer immunotherapy, focused on colorectal cancer and prognostic and predictive biomarkers in colorectal and breast cancer.
